Patna: Patna received projects worth Rs 1,024 crore on Monday as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for several new works. The CM said these schemes would bring big improvements in facilities for people living in Patna’s central areas.
The projects include a four-lane road with underground drainage along the Serpentine drain from Patel Golambar to Eco Park and Atal Path, costing Rs 196.80 crore. A major power project worth Rs 328.52 crore will also begin to replace overhead wires with underground cables and strengthen electricity supply.
Other works launched include hostel renovation for colleges and universities at Rs 30.02 crore, construction of Patna Haat near Gandhi Maidan at Rs 48.96 crore, and a Rs 52.28 crore link road to connect Mandiri Nala’s four-lane road with JP Ganga Path. Officials said these would help students, traders, and daily commuters.
The largest project announced was the JP Ganga Path Samagra Udyan Project, costing Rs 387.40 crore, to develop a 7km green stretch along the river between Digha and Gandhi Maidan. A walking path from Sabhyata Dwar to Collectorate Ghat will also be built at Rs 12.38 crore. The CM said all these works were part of the promises he made during the Pragati Yatra.
