Patna: Dilip Kumar, a science teacher from Supaul district, has been selected for the National Teacher Award 2025. He teaches at Plus Two Lalit Narayan Laxmi Narayan Girls High School in Triveniganj and will receive the award from President Droupadi Murmu on Teachers’ Day, 5 September, in New Delhi.
His name was first recommended by the Bihar State Selection Committee and later approved by the Union Ministry of Education. Kumar gave his presentation online on 11 August before the ministry. Out of three teachers chosen from Bihar this year, he is the only one from the Kosi region.
Since joining the school in 2023, Kumar has encouraged innovation and experiments in science. Many of his students have won awards at state and national levels, and some have been selected for Inspire Award competitions. He also received a certificate of appreciation from the Bihar government on Bihar Day 2025.
This success continues a proud tradition for the school. In 2022, its headmaster Saurabh Suman received the National Teacher Award, while other teachers from Triveniganj have earlier won both state and national honours. Kumar said the award was a shared achievement with his colleagues and students, calling it “a moment of pride and inspiration”.
