Champaran: During the ongoing Voter Rights Yatra in Bihar, opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav met Raja Yadav, popularly called ‘Bihari Tarzan’, in his home district of West Champaran. The encounter drew attention after Raja demonstrated his stamina with a round of push-ups, leaving Tejashwi visibly impressed.
Sharing a photo of the meeting on Instagram, Tejashwi described Raja as a “fitness icon” known for his strength, speed and endurance. Raja Yadav has gained fame across Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, with videos of his feats — including running alongside vehicles and walking on his hands — going viral on social media.
According to accounts, Raja reportedly performs 20,000 push-ups and runs 20 km daily, a regimen inspired by his father, who was a wrestler. His training and discipline have earned him a strong following, particularly among young people.
Now in its 13th day, the Voter Rights Yatra has travelled from Bettiah to Gopalganj, with Raja choosing to meet Tejashwi as the march passed through his district. The encounter highlighted both Raja’s cult status in the region and Tejashwi’s effort to connect with local icons during the campaign.
