Patna/Kolkata: The Bihar Tourism Department is participating in the Bengal Tourism Fest 2026, being held from June 19 to June 21 at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra in Kolkata, to promote the state’s major tourism destinations and strengthen engagement with the travel industry.
The event has been organised by the Association of Tourism Service Providers of Bengal and brings together tourism stakeholders from across the region. Bihar’s participation is being led by Joint Director Rajesh Roshan.
At its exhibition stall, the department is showcasing Bihar’s religious, historical, cultural and heritage tourism offerings. Visitors are being provided information on key tourism circuits, including the Buddhist, Jain, Sikh and Ramayana circuits, along with promotional material highlighting the state’s tourism assets and cultural identity.

Focus on Tourism Promotion
According to the Tourism Department, the initiative aims to position Bihar as a leading tourism destination in India while increasing awareness among potential tourists, tour operators and travel industry representatives.
Officials said participation in tourism events hosted in major metropolitan centres such as Kolkata offers an opportunity to present Bihar’s tourism profile to a wider audience and build stronger connections with industry stakeholders.
Strengthening Inter-State Tourism Cooperation
The department said the event will also contribute to strengthening tourism cooperation between states and encourage greater visitor movement across the region.
Tourism officials believe that wider promotion of Bihar’s destinations can support growth in religious, heritage, cultural and leisure tourism, particularly among travellers from Eastern India, including West Bengal.

Invitation to Visitors
The Tourism Department has invited members of the public, tourism industry representatives and travel enthusiasts attending the festival to visit the Bihar Tourism stall and learn more about the state’s cultural heritage and tourism opportunities.
Officials said the department will continue to participate in such promotional events to expand the visibility of Bihar’s tourism sector and attract a larger number of domestic visitors.
