Patna: Bihar Tourism Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta on Friday reviewed the progress of various development and infrastructure projects being implemented by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC).
The review meeting was held at the minister’s office and attended by BSTDC Managing Director Nand Kishore, General Manager Chandan Chauhan, executive officers, engineers and other officials associated with the projects.
Focus on timely completion
During the meeting, Gupta instructed officials to expedite project execution and ensure that all works are completed within the prescribed timelines.
He said the state government considers tourism infrastructure development a priority area and emphasised the need for efficient implementation of ongoing projects.
Quality and transparency stressed
The minister directed officials to maintain quality standards in all construction and development activities.
He said there should be no compromise on workmanship and asked departments to strengthen monitoring mechanisms to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with approved specifications and schedules.
Warning against irregularities
Gupta warned that any instance of negligence, irregularity or procedural violation in project execution would invite strict action.
He said agencies and contractors found responsible for lapses could face punitive measures, including the filing of FIRs and blacklisting, depending on the nature of the violations.
Detailed review of ongoing works
Officials presented updates on the status of ongoing and under-construction tourism projects during the meeting.
The minister directed departments and implementing agencies to ensure that tourism-related works are completed in a timely, transparent and quality-driven manner to support the state’s tourism development objectives.
