Patna: Train services across parts of Bihar will be affected on Tuesday, September 22, due to railway works at five locations, including Rajendra Bridge. The Railways has cancelled 14 trains and diverted 30 others through alternate routes.
The works are being undertaken ahead of the commissioning of the new rail bridge over the Ganges at Mokama. According to railway information, pre-interlocking and non-interlocking work is being carried out at Rajendra Bridge, Hathidah Junction (Upper), Taal, Rampur Dumra and Dinkar Gram Simaria Junction.
The work involves modifications to tracks, signalling, points and other operational systems, affecting services in the Danapur and Sonpur divisions.
Patna-Mokama-Kiul Services Affected
Among the cancelled services are the 63275 Kiul-Patna MEMU Fast Passenger, 63276 Patna-Kiul MEMU Fast Passenger and 63204 Mokama-Kiul MEMU.
Passengers travelling between Patna, Mokama and Kiul are therefore advised to check their train status before leaving for the station.
Saharsa, Jaynagar And Other Services Cancelled
The 13227 Saharsa-Rajendra Nagar Intercity and 13228 Rajendra Nagar-Saharsa Intercity have also been cancelled for September 22.
The 15527 Jaynagar-Patna Express and 15528 Patna-Jaynagar Express will not operate on Tuesday. The 13031 Howrah-Jaynagar Express and 13032 Jaynagar-Howrah Express are also among the affected services.
Long-Distance Trains Also Hit
The cancellations include the 13030 Mokama-Howrah Express and 13029 Howrah-Mokama Express. The 14003 Malda Town-New Delhi Express has also been cancelled.
Other cancelled services include the 63229 Ara-Banaras MEMU and 13127 Kolkata Terminal-Ara Garib Rath Express.
