Patna: The Bihar Motor Transport Federation has accused the state government of unfair treatment and harassment of vehicle owners. The group says e-challans are being issued even when vehicles are in garages and not running on the road. It has also claimed that fines are sometimes charged even after payment is made.
Federation patron Amarnath Pandey told reporters in Patna that there are no proper bus stops anywhere in Bihar, yet money is still being collected from operators. He said these problems must be fixed immediately.
The federation will submit its demands to the government soon. If no action is taken, it will start an indefinite strike from 25 August, stopping all commercial vehicles, including buses and trucks, across the state.
Members say the strike could cause major disruption to travel and transport in Bihar if the issues are not resolved.
