Patna: A team from the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) conducted a major raid in Patna on Wednesday morning in connection with an alleged corruption and irregularities case linked to government tenders.
The operation was carried out at the residence of contractor Rishu Shri following a search warrant issued by the Special Judge (Vigilance), Patna.
Officials began searching a flat located in the Mithapur area on Khagaul Road early in the morning, examining documents and electronic records as part of the investigation.
Case Registered Under Corruption and Official Secrets Laws
According to sources, the Special Vigilance Unit registered Case No. 05/2025 against the accused on April 30, 2025.
The FIR reportedly includes provisions under:
- The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
- The Prevention of Corruption Act
- The Official Secrets Act
Investigators allege that government tenders were manipulated on a large scale to provide undue benefit to a private company associated with the accused, resulting in substantial losses to government revenue.

Probe Focuses on Tender Manipulation Allegations
Investigating agencies stated that Rishu Shri is the proprietor of Reliable Infra Services Pvt Ltd.
Officials allege that confidential information related to government tenders was misused during the bidding process.
According to sources, sensitive technical specifications and critical documents were allegedly leaked in advance to favour the company during tender allocation.
ED Probe Led to Vigilance Investigation
The matter was initially examined by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which reportedly uncovered suspicious financial transactions and related documents during its preliminary inquiry.
The ED later recommended a detailed investigation under the Prevention of Corruption Act, following which the Special Vigilance Unit formally registered the case and initiated legal proceedings.

Electronic Devices and Financial Records Under Examination
On Wednesday, vigilance officials searched Flat No. 5A at Kamta Ramsakhi Enclave in Mithapur, which is believed to be the residence of the accused.
Officials said the team is examining:
- Laptops
- Mobile phones
- Hard drives
- Financial records
- Tender-related documents
Investigators indicated that they expect to uncover additional evidence during the course of the operation.
Possible Nexus Under Investigation
The raid drew significant public attention in the locality, with large crowds gathering near the residential complex throughout the day.
Officials, however, declined to comment extensively, stating that detailed information would only be released after completion of the investigation.
Sources within the Special Vigilance Unit said investigators are also probing a possible nexus between government officials and private companies linked to the alleged tender irregularities.
Officials indicated that if the allegations are substantiated, more individuals could face legal action in the coming days.
The ongoing investigation has intensified scrutiny over government tender processes and allegations of corruption within public contracts in Bihar.
