Patna: Humid winds from both the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea, combined with a monsoon trough passing over Bihar, are set to intensify rainfall in the state in the coming days, the Patna Meteorological Centre Patna said.
Patna recorded the state’s highest temperature for the second day running at 36.5°C, as reduced rainfall pushed up maximum temperatures in 19 districts. Cloudy skies and humid heat continued to trouble residents in the capital and its surrounding areas.
The Met office has issued a thunder and lightning warning for 17 districts on Sunday, alongside a heavy rain alert for Araria and Kishanganj. A broader change in weather patterns is expected from September 8.
Over the past 24 hours, sporadic showers were reported across Bihar, with Barhat in Jamui district recording the highest rainfall at 28.2mm. Winds reached up to 22kmph in Siwan, Motihari, Patna, Muzaffarpur and Banka.
