Patna: Bihar is likely to see mixed monsoon conditions on August 20, with light to moderate rainfall expected across several northeastern districts and a yellow warning issued for thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.
The Meteorological Department has forecast winds of 30–40 kmph in the northeastern parts of the state, along with the possibility of lightning and thunderstorms.
Rain Expected In Northeastern Districts
Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Madhepura and Saharsa are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall at many places, according to the weather department.
The districts have also been placed under a yellow warning because of the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds.
Rainfall Likely In Other Districts
Rain may occur at some places in Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Madhubani, Jamui, Munger, Banka, Khagaria and Bhagalpur.
Scattered rainfall is also possible at one or two places in Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Nawada, Rohtas, Buxar, Bhojpur, West Champaran, East Champaran, Saran and Siwan.
Temperatures Likely To Rise
The maximum temperature across Bihar is expected to increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius after the next 24 hours.
The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures are expected to stay around 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.
