Patna: Weather conditions in Bihar are expected to change on August 8, with rainfall forecast across several parts of the state, according to the Meteorological Department.
Light to moderate rain is likely at many places in the south-central and south-eastern districts. Some areas of North Bihar and south-western Bihar may also receive rainfall.
The department has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in parts of South Bihar.
Yellow Alert For Three Regions
A Yellow Alert has been issued for districts in south-west, south-central and south-eastern Bihar.
Winds are expected to reach speeds of 30–40 km/h in these areas, along with a possibility of thunderstorms and lightning.
Region-Wise Rainfall Forecast
- South-Central Bihar: Patna, Gaya, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Nawada, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura and Begusarai may receive rain at many places.
- South-East Bihar: Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Munger and Khagaria may receive rain at many places.
- North-West Bihar: West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran may receive rain at some places.
- North-Central Bihar: Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Darbhanga, Samastipur and Madhubani may receive rain at some places.
- North-East Bihar: Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar, Madhepura and Saharsa may receive rain at some places.
- South-West Bihar: Rohtas, Kaimur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Arwal and Aurangabad may receive rain at some places.
Temperature Forecast
The maximum temperature across Bihar is likely to remain between 32°C and 34°C, while the minimum temperature may range from 26°C to 28°C in most areas.
Residents in districts under the Yellow Alert should remain cautious during thunderstorms and lightning, particularly in open areas.
