Patna: The monsoon is gradually weakening across Bihar, with the India Meteorological Department issuing no rainfall warning for any district on Sunday. Similar conditions are expected on Monday, with the weather likely to remain largely normal across the state for the next two days.
Rainfall is, however, possible in several areas on September 22 and 23.
Temperatures Begin To Rise
As rainfall activity decreases, temperatures have started climbing across the state.
Kaimur was the hottest district on Saturday, recording a maximum temperature of 37.1°C.
Other high temperatures included:
- Supaul: 35.6°C
- Darbhanga: 35.4°C
- Siwan: 35°C
- Madhubani: 34.5°C
- Nalanda: 34.4°C
- Motihari: 34.4°C
- Madhepura: 34°C
Patna To Remain Hot
Patna is also expected to experience warm conditions over the next few days.
On September 20 and 21, the maximum temperature could reach 36°C, while the minimum is expected to remain around 28°C.
On September 22, the maximum temperature is likely to be 35°C and the minimum 27°C.
Temperatures are expected to dip slightly on September 23, with the maximum likely to reach 34°C and the minimum 26°C.
Buxar Records Highest Rainfall
Although weather conditions are currently calm, several areas received significant rainfall during the past 24 hours.
Barhampur in Buxar recorded the highest rainfall at 46.8mm, followed by:
- Garhpura, Begusarai: 45.6mm
- Chakki, Buxar: 42.6mm
- Parbatta, Khagaria: 38.4mm
- Simri, Buxar: 36.4mm
- Ara: 25.4mm
- Chaungai: 22.6mm
- Cheria Bariarpur: 18.6mm
- Rosera: 18.2mm
- Kesath: 18.2mm
Bihar 28% Below Normal Rainfall
Bihar has recorded below-normal rainfall during the current monsoon season.
The state has received 650.3mm of rainfall so far, against the normal 919.9mm for the period, leaving a 28% deficit.
