Patna: A dispute between two biological sisters over the identity of a woman claiming a Railway compassionate appointment has reached Naubatpur police station, with both sides asserting that they are the rightful beneficiary.
The dispute centres on the claim to the compassionate appointment and other benefits associated with the deceased railway employee, whose wife is identified as Amrita Kumari.
Sisters Make Counter-Claims
According to the details of the case, the woman claiming to be the deceased employee’s wife has alleged that her biological sister obtained a fake identity card in her name.
She has accused her sister of assuming her identity and using it to make what she describes as fraudulent claims through correspondence with the Railway Department.
A counter-allegation has also been made against the complainant. The opposing side claims that she concealed her actual identity and created forged documents using older educational qualifications.
School academic certificates have been submitted to the police as part of the dispute.
Police To Verify Educational Records
Given the conflicting claims, police have begun examining academic records from 2013 and 2015 to establish the identities of the two sisters.
Investigators plan to visit the concerned school to verify enrolment records, examination forms and certificates issued during the relevant period.
The verification is expected to help establish which documents and identity claims are genuine.

Both women are originally from Arwal district, although they are married into families living in different areas.
With both sides having submitted written complaints and made competing claims over the same identity, police are investigating the documents and records before determining the facts of the case.
