Patna: Bihar is witnessing a gradual change in weather conditions in the last week of October, with minimum temperatures falling by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius in several districts. The decline in nighttime temperatures could bring a noticeable chill in the coming days, although bright sunshine is likely to keep daytime temperatures relatively warm.
According to weather experts, there is currently no indication of severe cold across the state. The extent of the chill in the coming days will depend on the rate of decline in minimum temperatures and the prevailing westerly winds.
Light Fog Possible During Early Morning Hours
Dense fog is not yet clearly indicated for Bihar. However, light fog or mist may develop in some areas during the early morning hours if humidity rises and wind speeds remain low.
Rural areas and locations near rivers may experience light mist, depending on local weather conditions. As nighttime temperatures continue to fall towards the end of October, mornings and late evenings are likely to become cooler, making the chill more noticeable.
The difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures may also increase, bringing mild cold conditions during the early morning hours even as afternoons remain warm.
New Weather System Developing Over Bay of Bengal
Meanwhile, a new weather system is developing over the Bay of Bengal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a system over the Andaman Sea is moving west-northwestwards and could lead to the formation of a low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal around October 23. The system may intensify further thereafter.
Another weather system is present over northeastern Jharkhand and adjoining areas. The combined influence of these systems could bring changes in weather conditions across eastern India.
However, the possibility of rainfall, cloud cover or significant temperature changes in Bihar will depend on the movement and intensity of the developing system.
Patna Temperature Forecast
Patna is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 32 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of approximately 22 degrees Celsius. Clear skies and sunshine are likely to keep afternoons warm, while relatively lower temperatures during the night and early morning may bring some relief from the daytime heat.
For now, Bihar is likely to experience a transition towards cooler mornings and evenings rather than widespread winter-like conditions.
