The Bihar government on Monday formally launched a new public grievance redressal initiative aimed at improving access to officials and simplifying administrative processes. The programme, titled “Sabka Samman – Jeevan Aasan (Ease of Living)”, is part of the state’s Saat Nischay–3 agenda and seeks to provide citizens with a regular, structured platform to raise their concerns directly with the administration.
Under the scheme, public hearings will be held every Monday and Friday across all state departments and district-level offices. In the Home Department, these sessions will take place at Sardar Patel Bhawan, from 11 am to 1 pm on Mondays and 3 pm to 5 pm on Fridays, officials said.
Senior officers, including the additional chief secretary, Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, will attend the hearings. In his absence, designated officials will listen to complaints. Authorities said that details of each complainant – including name, address and the nature of the grievance will be formally recorded, with daily data maintained on the number and type of cases received.
According to the Home Department, complaints raised during the hearings will be placed before the relevant officers, who will issue instructions to concerned branches for swift resolution. K Suhita Anupam, special secretary of the department, has issued detailed guidelines to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme and to prevent inconvenience to citizens.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister’s Secretariat conducted an online training session via video conferencing for officials from all departments and districts. The training focused on the use of a newly developed portal, sss.bihar.gov.in, where grievances can be registered, supporting details uploaded, and updates on action taken tracked digitally – a move the government says will strengthen transparency and accountability.
