Patna: The Bihar State Women’s Commission has celebrated its 24th anniversary with the launch of a new website allowing women to file complaints online.
The event, held at the Adhiveshan Bhawan in Patna on Friday, was inaugurated by chief minister Nitish Kumar, with deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha in attendance. National Commission for Women chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar was present as the guest of honour.
Launching the digital service, commission chairperson Apsara Mishra said it was designed to ease access for women from remote areas. “Applicants will be required to provide complete information along with their name and specify the type of case,” she said.

The state government described the initiative as part of a wider effort to strengthen women’s empowerment in Bihar. Addressing the gathering, minister Vijay Choudhary said: “What our chief minister has done for women in Bihar has become an example for the entire country. Other states have followed suit, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself praises this work on public platforms.”
Former chairpersons of the commission, along with women MPs and MLAs, were invited to the programme. An awareness campaign was also organised to mark the occasion.
