Patna: A woman was allegedly gang-raped in a field in Dulhin Bazaar, Patna on Saturday night, police reported on Sunday. Three men have been arrested in connection with the crime.
According to a police statement, the victim had left her home to go to a nearby field to defecate when the accused men, whom she knew from her village, allegedly accosted her and committed the assault.
The woman immediately returned home and informed her family, who then contacted the police. Authorities registered a case and formed a special team to apprehend the suspects.
The three men arrested have been identified as Arvind Kumar, Dharmendra Kumar, and Kundan Kumar. Two of the accused are residents of Kinjar, in the Arwal district, while the third is from Dulhinbazar.
City superintendent of police for Patna West, Bhanu Pratap Singh, confirmed the arrests and stated that all three men had been located and taken into custody in Arwal and Dulhinbazar.
The victim is currently undergoing a medical examination, and further legal proceedings are underway.
