Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has revised the total number of vacancies for the 71st Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination to 1,298 posts. The updated figure follows an amendment to the earlier recruitment notification.
Initially, the Commission had announced 1,250 posts. Subsequently, 14 Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) posts were added, bringing the total to 1,264. With the latest inclusion of 34 more vacancies across several departments, the final tally has now reached 1,298.
According to the updated advertisement, the newly added posts include:
- 27 positions for Sub-Divisional Backward and Extremely Backward Class Welfare Officer
- 2 positions for Assistant Director in the Social Welfare Department
- 1 post in the Divyangjan Empowerment Cell
- 2 posts in the Child Protection Unit
- 2 positions for Assistant Director in the Cooperative Department
These posts span 34 different services across 17 departments. The Commission has stated that if more departments submit their vacancies during the application period, those will be added accordingly.
The last date to apply for the 71st BPSC Preliminary Exam is June 30, and the preliminary exam is likely to be held on August 30.
Among the highest number of vacancies:
- Block Cooperative Officer: 502 posts
- Block Minority Welfare Officer: 459 posts
- Senior Deputy Collector: 100 posts
