Patna: The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar has taken big action against corruption by raiding six locations linked to Rajesh Kumar, a Lekhpal posted in the State Food Corporation. These raids took place on Friday morning after it was found that Rajesh Kumar owned assets 201.94% higher than his known income.
Rajesh Kumar is currently posted in Motihari, but the raids were carried out at his properties in Patna, Motihari, Muzaffarpur, and Hajipur. The EOU team obtained a search warrant from the court before conducting the raids. They searched his residence, ancestral house, properties of relatives, and other suspicious locations.
During the raids, officials recovered many important documents, electronic devices, and papers related to suspicious money transactions. The EOU said their initial investigation shows that Rajesh Kumar used black money to buy properties, invested in real estate, and ran fake accounts to hide the money.
Police also found that some properties were registered under the names of his close relatives, which are now under investigation. The EOU will continue its inquiry to find out the full truth about how he earned so much wealth beyond his salary.
