Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the 33rd Bihar Civil Judge (PCS-J) Recruitment 2026, inviting applications for 173 vacancies across multiple categories. The online application window opened on February 25, marking the start of a competitive selection process aimed at strengthening the state’s judicial workforce.
The recruitment drive is expected to attract a large number of law graduates seeking careers in public service and the judiciary. Candidates can submit applications through the commission’s official portal, with March 18, 2026 set as the deadline for both application submission and fee payment.
According to the notification, applicants must possess an LLB degree from a recognised university and have a minimum of three years’ advocacy experience. The prescribed age limit ranges from 22 to 35 years, while candidates belonging to reserved categories will receive relaxation in line with government norms.
The application process requires candidates to register online, log in using generated credentials, and complete the civil judge application form before paying the required fee. Applicants are advised to retain a printed copy of the submitted form for future reference.
The vacancy distribution includes 69 posts for the unreserved category, followed by 36 for extremely backward classes,28 for scheduled castes,21 for backward classes, 17 for economically weaker sections, and two posts for scheduled tribes. Officials say the recruitment aims to enhance judicial capacity while providing a structured pathway for qualified legal professionals to enter the bench.
