Darbhanga/Patna : Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari has clarified that the Bihar Public Service Commission’s Teacher Recruitment Examination 4.0 (BPSC TRE 4.0) will be conducted through a single examination with negative marking.
Speaking to the media in Darbhanga on Sunday, the minister said there was no longer any reason for confusion regarding the examination pattern. He also appealed to teachers and candidates to approach the Education Department directly if they have concerns or doubts instead of immediately seeking legal intervention.
Tiwari said the department was open to discussions and would work towards resolving genuine issues through dialogue.
Teachers Urged to Raise Concerns Directly
The Education Minister said teachers should meet him and put forward their concerns if they have any doubts regarding recruitment or other issues related to the Education Department.
He emphasised that the department was prepared to listen to teachers and find solutions through discussion.
His remarks come amid discussions among aspiring teachers regarding the examination pattern and recruitment process for TRE 4.0.
BPSC TRE 4.0 to Recruit 32,388 Teachers
The BPSC is expected to recruit teachers for 32,388 posts under TRE 4.0.
The vacancies have been divided across different school levels. These include:
- 3,847 posts for primary school teachers
- 8,563 posts for middle school teachers
- 3,877 posts for secondary school teachers
- 16,101 posts for higher secondary school teachers
Higher secondary school teachers account for the largest share of the vacancies.
Exam to Be Conducted Offline Through OMR
According to the details available for the recruitment process, the TRE 4.0 examination will be conducted offline through OMR sheets.
The examination will follow an objective-type format and carry a total of 150 marks. Candidates will get 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the paper.
The paper will consist of 30 questions on language proficiency, 40 questions on General Studies and 80 questions related to the candidate’s chosen subject.
Negative Marking to Be Part of the Examination
The Education Minister’s clarification confirms that negative marking will be applicable in TRE 4.0.
With negative marking, candidates will need to be careful while attempting questions, as incorrect answers could affect their overall scores.
The single-examination format is also expected to provide a uniform assessment process for candidates participating in the recruitment drive.
Application Fee Details
The application fee has been set at ₹750 for General and OBC candidates, as well as candidates from other states.
For SC, ST, differently-abled and female candidates, the application fee will be ₹200.
Candidates will need to fulfil the prescribed eligibility requirements and submit their applications within the specified recruitment schedule.
Minister Attends ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Programme in Darbhanga
The Education Minister made the remarks after attending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme in Badrinagar, Darbhanga, along with BJP State President Sanjay Sarawagi and other party workers.
Tiwari said the programme provides a national platform for highlighting the achievements and efforts of ordinary citizens across the country.
He noted that issues such as social service, self-reliance, cleanliness, environmental conservation and youth empowerment regularly feature in the programme.
BJP State President Highlights Nation-Building Message
BJP State President Sanjay Sarawagi said ‘Mann Ki Baat’ highlights the achievements of people working in different parts of the country.
According to Sarawagi, such initiatives provide inspiration and encourage citizens to contribute towards positive social change and nation-building.
District President Aditya Narayan Manna, Badri Purve, District Treasurer Bablu Panjiyar, Mandal President Ratan Paswan, Mukhiya Shambhu Yadav and other party office-bearers and workers were also present at the programme.
