Patna: Police baton-charged students protesting in Patna on Friday as demonstrators demanded the immediate release of the fourth phase teacher recruitment advertisement by the Bihar Public Service Commission.
A large number of aspirants had gathered near JP Golambar, where they attempted to stage a road blockade over the continued delay in the TRE-4 recruitment process.
Police intervened to disperse the crowd, and several students reportedly sustained injuries during the confrontation.
Students Allege Repeated Delays
Student leader Dilip Kumar accused the commission of repeatedly delaying the recruitment process and misleading candidates awaiting the notification.
He claimed that more than 1.3 million aspirants were being affected by the uncertainty surrounding the recruitment drive.
According to the protesters, officials had repeatedly announced tentative dates for the release of the advertisement, but the notification had yet to be published.
Students referred to recent remarks by the examination controller stating that the TRE-4 advertisement would be issued on April 19 and that applications would begin around April 25 or 26.
However, by May 8, the notification had still not been released.
“We gathered to protest against the continuous delay and uncertainty,” one protester said during the demonstration.
