Muzaffarpur/Patna: Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bihar University (BRABU) has warned postgraduate students admitted from other universities that their enrolment may be cancelled if they fail to submit migration certificates within 10 days.
University officials said the registration process for such students has been put on hold due to non-submission of the required documents.
The issue has surfaced during admissions for the 2025–27 postgraduate session, where dozens of students reportedly completed admission formalities without depositing migration certificates.
Registration process affected
According to university sources, some students had applied for multiple courses simultaneously and submitted their migration certificates to other institutions, leaving them unable to furnish the documents to BRABU departments or colleges.
The university has begun the registration process following admissions, but incomplete documentation has created delays in approving registrations.
Admission irregularities under scrutiny
Officials also pointed to cases where admissions were granted without adherence to academic eligibility norms, leading to complications during registration.
At RN College, Hajipur, the registration of a postgraduate student enrolled in Economics has reportedly been held up because the student completed an undergraduate degree in BBA. University officials said the academic background may not meet the prescribed eligibility criteria for the course.
The student, however, argued that admission was taken only after the option was made available during the counselling process.
Complaints over missing records on portal
Separate complaints have also emerged from students whose admissions were completed but whose details were not uploaded on the university portal.
A Zoology student at LS College alleged that despite paying fees and completing admission formalities, her name was missing from the online records, preventing registration.
The student said a complaint had been submitted to the office of the Dean of Students’ Welfare (DSW). Alok Pratap Singh. DSW at BRABU said, instructions had been issued to resolve the matter.
