Patna: A case involving an alleged plot to assassinate Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come to light in Buxar district of Bihar, prompting swift action by police.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid in the Simri police station area and arrested a young man, creating a stir in the locality.
Main accused arrested
The main accused, identified as Aman Tiwari, a resident of Asha Padri village in Simri, was arrested from his home.
According to superintendent of police Shubham Arya, the accused was allegedly planning an attack on the prime minister and had attempted to establish contact with a foreign agency.
Foreign link under probe
Investigators said the accused had reportedly sent a proposal to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), seeking a large sum of money in connection with the alleged plot. He is also said to have requested 22 days to execute the plan.
Officials, however, have not independently confirmed the authenticity of these claims and said the matter remains under investigation.
During the raid, police recovered laptops and other electronic devices from the accused’s residence. These are currently being examined to gather further evidence and verify digital communications.
Based on information obtained during interrogation, police have also arrested two other individuals believed to be associates of the main accused. All three are being questioned to determine the extent of the alleged conspiracy.
Police said the case is being investigated with seriousness, and efforts are under way to identify any wider network or links. Authorities added that further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
