Patna: With passenger demand expected to rise during the Diwali and Chhath festive season, Indian Railways has announced a special reserved train between New Delhi and Darbhanga.
The festival special will stop at several important stations in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, including Samastipur, Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj and Gorakhpur, providing an additional travel option for passengers heading to Bihar.
47 Trips Scheduled in Both Directions
Train No. 04098 New Delhi-Darbhanga Festival Special will operate daily from October 10 to November 25.
In the return direction, Train No. 04097 Darbhanga-New Delhi Festival Special will run from October 11 to November 26.
A total of 47 trips in each direction have been scheduled.
New Delhi to Darbhanga: Timing and Route
Train No. 04098 will depart from New Delhi at 9:30 am.
It will travel via Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Aishbagh, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Bagaha, Narkatiaganj, Bettiah, Motihari and Muzaffarpur before reaching Samastipur.
The train will arrive at Samastipur Junction at 10:05 am the following day and remain there for 30 minutes. It will depart for Darbhanga at 10:35 am and reach Darbhanga at 12 noon.
Darbhanga to New Delhi: Return Timings
Train No. 04097 will depart from Darbhanga at 3 pm.
It will reach Samastipur at 4:10 pm and depart after a 30-minute halt at 4:40 pm.
The train will then travel through Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj and Gorakhpur before continuing towards New Delhi.
It is scheduled to reach New Delhi at 6:30 pm the following day.
24 Coaches to Be Attached
The festival special will have 24 coaches.
The train will cover approximately 1,188 km between New Delhi and Darbhanga. The journey from New Delhi to Darbhanga will take around 27 hours, while the return journey is expected to take approximately 27 hours and 30 minutes.
Extra Option for Festive Travellers
Passenger demand on trains to Bihar typically increases during the Diwali and Chhath travel period.
The additional New Delhi-Darbhanga service is expected to provide passengers with another reserved travel option during the festive rush, particularly for travellers heading towards North Bihar.
