Patna: Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) National President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan has strongly countered the opposition’s allegations, saying that every leader has their own work and responsibilities. He was responding to questions raised by opposition parties over why Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was not seen during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Bihar. Paswan said there was nothing unusual about it, as all leaders were busy campaigning in their own areas.
Speaking to the media, Chirag Paswan said, “Everyone has their own agenda and duties. We have very little time for election campaigning. If everyone stands together on one platform, then campaigning in other areas will stop. That will only weaken the campaign.” His statement came as the opposition tried to use Nitish Kumar’s absence as a sign of internal tension within the NDA alliance.
Reacting to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s remark that the Prime Minister was visiting Bihar despite having no work there, Paswan hit back sharply. “What intelligence he has! The Prime Minister coming to Bihar is a matter of pride for all of us. This is our home, and it is an honour that the Prime Minister is holding rallies and roadshows here,” he said. Paswan added that people of Bihar should feel proud that such a large-scale campaign was taking place in the state.
The Union Minister also took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, referring to his recent activity of catching fish during a public demonstration. Paswan mocked him by saying, “Let him cook the fish. During elections in Haryana, Maharashtra, and the Lok Sabha polls, he also caught fish and fried jalebis. But what was the result? The result will be the same this time.” His remarks were met with laughter from the audience, as he continued to attack both the RJD and Congress for what he called “gimmicks to gain attention.”
Chirag Paswan’s comments have come at a time when political campaigning in Bihar is reaching its peak. As one of the major faces of the NDA alliance in the state, his statements were seen as both a defence of the Prime Minister and a show of strength against the opposition’s criticism. His strong words reflected the growing political heat in Bihar as parties continue to trade accusations and prepare for intense electoral battles ahead.
