Patna: The Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna (CIMP) hosted an international Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Wednesday, spotlighting the intersection of management theory and artificial intelligence. Titled Management and the Value Stick in the Age of AI, the event brought together academic leaders and industry experts from India and South Korea.
Organised in partnership with institutions such as AICTE, the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), AACSB, the CIMP-BIIF, Institution Innovation Council, and MSME, the programme aimed to foster dialogue on innovation, pedagogy and global collaboration in the era of AI-led transformation.
In his opening address, CIMP Director Prof (Dr) Rana Singh emphasised the institute’s mission to merge academic knowledge with practical application. “CIMP consistently promotes knowledge that goes beyond theory,” he said, highlighting a new academic exchange initiative with Ajou University, South Korea, and announcing the upcoming launch of Georgia Tech University’s Indian campus at CIMP.

Delivering the keynote, Prof Cheul Rhee, Professor of E-Business at Ajou University, underlined the significance of the ‘Value Stick’ model in management. He emphasised the critical role of product packaging in consumer engagement, adding, “Skill development and bilateral academic collaboration will propel both our nations forward.”
Prof Amitabh Keshav, ISO evaluator and faculty at Kyonggi University, Seoul, pointed to the complementary strengths of India and South Korea. “India has a wealth of products, and Korea excels in packaging. With India’s youthful talent and Korea’s need for skilled labour, our collaboration holds immense promise,” he said.
Ajou University’s Prof Byeong Yun Chang, Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies, encouraged students to shift focus from ideas to execution. “Management is not just about ideation; it’s about execution. Identify your capabilities and act on them,” he told attendees.
Closing the programme, Prof Sunil Kumar, Associate Dean at CIMP, reflected on South Korea’s rapid development, citing it as an example for India’s youth. “Exchange programmes like these unlock transformative opportunities for our students to learn and innovate,” he said.
