Patna: District magistrates and superintendents of police from all districts of Bihar have been called to the state capital on Thursday for a day-long workshop chaired by chief minister Samrat Choudhary at the Adhiveshan Bhawan.
The meeting marks Choudhary’s first direct, collective interaction with the state’s district-level administrative and police leadership since taking office. According to officials, the chief minister will inaugurate the session at 10:30am and also deliver an address outlining his government’s priorities.
The agenda covers a wide range of administrative and governance themes, including law and order, artificial intelligence literacy, the ‘Gyan Bharatam’ initiative, and agricultural data integration under ‘Agri Stack’ and ‘Bharat Vistar’. The general administration department has issued formal directions for the event, which requires the physical presence of all DMs and SPs in Patna.
While district officials will attend in person, senior officers at divisional and zonal levels—including divisional commissioners, inspectors general, deputy inspectors general, and additional director generals of police—will participate via video conferencing.
After the inauguration, the chief secretary is expected to set out the objectives and structure of the workshop. This will be followed by a series of technical presentations: on law and order by the director general (operations), on AI literacy by the information technology secretary, on ‘Gyan Bharatam’ by the art and culture secretary, and on agricultural initiatives by the agriculture department director.
Officials said the exercise is intended to streamline coordination between the state government and district administrations, with a particular focus on policing reforms, digital literacy, and the use of data-driven agricultural systems. Senior bureaucrats and police leadership are expected to take part in the discussions throughout the day via hybrid arrangements.
