Patna: As the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections gain momentum, uncertainty continues within the Grand Alliance over seat-sharing arrangements. Despite no final consensus with alliance partners, the Congress has gone ahead and released its fourth list of candidates late last night, bringing the total number of candidates announced so far to 60.
The fourth list includes six names — Surendra Prasad Kushwaha from Valmiki Nagar, Abidur Rahman from Araria, Jalil Mastan from Amaura, Tauqeer Alam from Barari, Praveen Singh Kushwaha from Kahalgaon, and Vinod Chaudhary from Sikandra.
Congress had earlier released its first list on October 16, announcing 48 candidates. The second list featured one candidate, while the third included five.
However, the latest announcement has reignited tension within the Grand Alliance, particularly over the Kahalgaon seat. Sources said both the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress had laid claim to this constituency. By announcing Praveen Singh Kushwaha as its candidate, Congress has made its intentions clear, effectively staking its claim to the seat.
With the first phase of polling approaching, alliance talks are expected to intensify further as parties rush to finalize their candidates and constituencies.
