Patna: The Bihar government has reiterated that making the state corruption-free remains a top priority, and any public servant found indulging in corruption will face arrest without exception. Additional Chief Secretary of the Vigilance Department, Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, on Saturday announced that three new Vigilance Police Stations will soon be opened in Araria, Purnia and Katihar districts.
Addressing the Third Vigilance Honour Ceremony organised by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau, Chaudhary said the process to set up new vigilance police stations in these three districts has already begun. He added that considering the rising number of corruption cases, the number of courts in the state will also be increased to ensure faster disposal of cases.

At the ceremony, 16 complainants, five public prosecutors, and 16 officers including DSPs, inspectors and constables were honoured for their role in exposing and acting against corruption. The event was inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar Chaudhary along with Vigilance DG Jitendra Singh Gangwar and Inspector General Garima Mallik.
“Vigilance has achieved strong results. Maintaining public trust is a big responsibility, and we are committed to it,” Chaudhary said.
Vigilance Breaking Its Own Records: DG
Vigilance Director General Jitendra Singh Gangwar said the department is continuously surpassing its own past performance. “Due to increasing public awareness, the number of complaints and registered cases is going up. On receiving complaints, the department is taking strict action against corrupt officials,” he said.
He added that all cases registered at vigilance police stations will be put on a fast-track for speedy trial. Gangwar also informed that the money given by complainants during trap operations has been returned directly to their bank accounts.
IG Garima Mallik said the department’s focus is not only on action but also on protecting honest citizens who come forward to report corruption.
With the expansion of vigilance infrastructure and faster trials, the Bihar government aims to strengthen its anti-corruption drive and improve public confidence in governance.
