SAMASTIPUR – In a delightful gift for the people of Mithila, Indian Railways is set to introduce a state-of-the-art push-pull Amrit Bharat train, designed with the same technology as the renowned Vande Bharat train. The push-pull train, equipped with powerful engines at both ends, is expected to commence operations from December 30, catering to the needs of passengers traveling in sleeper and general bogies.
Official sources have revealed that the push-pull train, comprising 22 Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches, has arrived at Jaynagar station in the Samastipur railway division. The train includes 17 sleeper coaches, three general coaches, and two SLR (Seating cum Luggage Rake) coaches. Successful trials have been conducted to ensure the efficiency and safety of the new train.
While the proposed route is from Darbhanga to Anand Vihar Terminal, official confirmation regarding the commencement date and specific route is still pending.
The push-pull train’s innovative design incorporates powerful engines at both ends, earning it the name “Push-Pull.” Samastipur Railway Division plans to operate this high-speed non-AC train using the advanced push-pull technology, benefitting passengers traveling from Darbhanga station to Anand Vihar Terminal.
With an anticipated launch date of December 30, the push-pull train is expected to operate through key railway sections, including Sitamarhi, Raxaul, and Gorakhpur. The train’s speed capability of 130 kilometers per hour, powered by a robust WAP 5 engine, ensures efficient and timely travel, reaching speeds from zero to 160 kilometers per hour in just four minutes.
The introduction of the push-pull train aligns with Indian Railways’ continuous efforts toward modernization, offering passengers a faster and seamless travel experience. The technology, akin to the successful Vande Bharat train, eliminates the need for engine changes at stations, streamlining long-distance journeys for railway passengers.
