Patna: Deepika Padukone turned 40, with images and videos from a recent fan event circulating widely on social media. The Bollywood actor, who is currently in New York with her family, celebrated the milestone earlier this month by hosting a meet-and-greet with a group of selected fans from across India.
According to fan accounts, the event took place on December 18, shortly before Padukone travelled to the US. Videos shared online show the actor cutting a birthday cake as fans sing Aankhon Mein Teri Ajab Si Adaayein, a song from her 2007 debut film Om Shanti Om. Other clips show her spending time with attendees individually, posing for photographs and speaking with them at length.
Several fans said Padukone personally arranged flight tickets for those invited to the event and presented each guest with a gift hamper. Social media posts describe the experience as “unforgettable”, with fans praising the actor for her warmth and personal attention.
Padukone is currently holidaying in New York and was recently spotted attending an NBA basketball game with her husband, actor Ranveer Singh. She is next set to appear in King, an upcoming film co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.
