Patna: The trailer for Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, was released on Sunday morning, quickly generating a wave of excitement online. While the action-packed visuals have drawn attention, it is the energetic background track, “Aari-Aari,” that has captured the audience’s interest and begun trending across social media platforms.
Released at 11:01 am, the trailer rapidly gained traction, with viewers sharing reels, edits and fan videos within minutes. The high-tempo song plays through several intense action sequences, giving the trailer a punchy rhythm that many fans say makes it instantly memorable.
What many listeners may not realise is that “Aari-Aari” is a remix of a Punjabi pop track that first gained popularity nearly two decades ago. The original song was performed by the Danish-Indian musical duo Bombay Rockers and appeared on their debut album Introducing…, released in the early 2000s.
The original version, titled “Aari Aari Part 1,” was released around 2004–2005. It blended traditional Punjabi folk influences, including elements of the classic “Bari Barsi Khatann Gaya Si,” with hip-hop rhythms and upbeat electronic beats, helping it become one of the defining Punjabi-pop hits of that era.
Bombay Rockers – consisting of Indian singer Navtej Singh Rehal alongside Thomas Sardorf and Janus Barnewitz – gained international recognition with the album, which sold more than 100,000 copies. Rehal performed in Punjabi and Hindi, while Sardorf contributed English vocals, creating a distinctive cross-cultural sound.
With the track now revived for Dhurandhar 2, attention is turning to whether the remix will replicate the popularity of the original. As the trailer continues to circulate online, fans will be watching closely to see if the updated version of “Aari-Aari” becomes the film’s breakout hit.
