Patna: Revenue employees and amins across Bihar will now be required to record their daily work in a digital diary, according to a new directive from the state’s revenue and land reforms department. The entries will be reviewed by circle officers, who will also be able to issue instructions and add remarks through the digital platform.
The decision was announced during a review meeting of circle officers held on Sunday. The meeting was chaired by principal secretary C K Anil, who reviewed the progress of key administrative tasks related to land governance.
Officials discussed pending cases concerning land revenue collection, mutation (dakhil-kharij), Parimarjan Plus and e-measurement. The principal secretary directed officers to ensure that these cases are resolved within a fixed timeline to improve service delivery.
Anil warned that delays in land revenue collection would not be tolerated and urged officials to maintain efficiency in their work. He also commended several circle officers for their performance in revenue collection.
The principal secretary also asked circle officers to improve the working environment in their offices and to use the funds allocated by the government for strengthening administrative infrastructure.
Secretary Jai Singh said the digital diary system is aimed at making revenue administration more transparent and accountable. Meanwhile, secretary Gopal Meena stressed that complaints received through the public grievance portal must be addressed promptly and effectively.
Deputy chief minister and revenue and land reforms minister Vijay Kumar Sinha said that services such as land revenue collection, mutation, land record correction and e-measurement directly affect the public and must therefore be delivered in a transparent and timely manner. He added that the government’s aim is to ensure that citizens receive services from circle offices without unnecessary delays or repeated visits.
