Minister Plans to Meet Family
According to the Education Department, Tiwari told Shubham’s parents that their son’s accomplishment had brought recognition to Bihar at the national level.
He attributed the success to the values and guidance provided by the family along with Shubham’s dedication towards his studies. The minister also said he intended to meet Shubham and his family personally in the near future.
Since the announcement of the results, congratulatory messages have poured in from political leaders and public figures across the country. Among those who have praised the achievement are Nitin Nabin, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Tejashwi Yadav.
Top Rank With 330 Marks
JEE Advanced is regarded as one of India’s most competitive entrance examinations for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
By scoring 330 out of 360 marks, Shubham secured the highest rank nationwide. He said he had prepared for the examination with discipline over the past two years, following a structured study schedule and regularly assessing his progress.
According to Shubham, consistent practice and focused improvement in weaker subjects played a crucial role in his preparation.
Family Support and Scholarship
Shubham’s father, Shiv Kumar, runs a hardware business in Gaya, while his mother, Kanchan Devi, is a homemaker. The family supported his academic aspirations throughout his preparation.
Recognising his potential, a coaching institute awarded him a full scholarship, enabling him to continue his JEE preparation in Kota, Rajasthan.
Academic Excellence Runs in the Family
Academic achievement is not new to the family. Shubham’s elder sister, Shreya Kumari, topped Gaya district last year and is currently pursuing Computer Science at Indian Institute of Technology Patna.
His grandfather, Ramchandra Das, said both Shubham and Shreya had shown a strong commitment to studies from an early age. He credited the family’s supportive environment for helping them pursue their educational goals.
