Patna: Students preparing for engineering and medical entrance examinations will soon have access to free coaching at Devipad Shaheed Smarak (Miller High School) in Patna, with the facility open to students from any school.
During an inspection of the school on Saturday, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the institution is being developed as an Adarsh Model School and will serve as a benchmark for schools across Bihar.
Free Evening Coaching for Competitive Exams
Samrat Choudhary announced that free coaching classes for JEE, NEET and other competitive examinations will be conducted from 5 pm to 8 pm after regular school hours.
The programme will cater to students of Classes 11 and 12, regardless of the school in which they are enrolled.
He directed officials to prepare a time-bound action plan for the comprehensive development of the institution and ensure its swift implementation.
Focus on Modern Infrastructure
During the visit, the Chief Minister reviewed classrooms, laboratories, sports facilities and other infrastructure. Officials also briefed him on the school’s Smart STEAM, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence laboratories.
He interacted with students and teachers, seeking suggestions on strengthening the institution as a model school.
Choudhary said the state government’s priority is to provide quality education, modern facilities and an improved learning environment for students.
Sports Facilities and Campus Development
The Chief Minister instructed officials to develop smart classrooms, strengthen laboratory infrastructure, expand the library, upgrade the sports ground and improve sports facilities.
He also directed that adequate lighting be installed at the Miller School playground and called for campus beautification as part of the school’s overall development plan.
According to the government, improved infrastructure and access to modern educational resources are expected to support students’ holistic development and better prepare them for competitive examinations.
Before concluding the visit, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to Shaheed Devipad Chaudhary at the memorial located within the school campus.
