Patna: The Patna district administration has finalised preparations for Republic Day celebrations at Gandhi Maidan, issuing detailed guidelines on entry and movement to ensure a smooth and secure event on January 26.
According to officials, Gandhi Maidan will open to the general public from 7am. Separate entry arrangements have been made for spectators, media personnel and invited guests, with access restricted to designated gates only.

Under the administration’s order, members of the public will be permitted to enter through gates 5, 6 and 7. Spectators arriving from JP Ganga Path, Ashok Rajpath, Golghar, Mandiri, Buddha Colony and adjoining areas have been directed to use gates 5 and 6. Gate 5 is located on the northern side of the maidan, opposite Shri Krishna Memorial Hall, while gate 6 is at the north-eastern corner near Kargil Chowk.
Gate 7 has been earmarked for people coming from Bari Path, Nala Road, Thakurbari, Bakarganj, Exhibition Road, Fraser Road, TN Banerjee Road, Chajjubagh and nearby localities. This entrance is situated on the eastern side of Gandhi Maidan, opposite Udyog Bhawan.
Special arrangements have also been put in place for the media. Journalists and camera crews will be allowed entry through gate 9 on the southern side of the maidan, opposite the Reserve Bank of India. Media personnel have been instructed to carry valid identity cards and official passes to facilitate security checks.
The administration has appealed to citizens to arrive early, use only the designated gates and follow instructions issued by security personnel. People have also been advised not to carry prohibited items into the venue.
Officials said public cooperation would be key to the successful conduct of the Republic Day Ceremony, adding that the measures were intended to ensure safety, order and ease of movement during the celebrations.
