Patna: A modern sports complex is set to come up at the Gardanibagh Integrated Sports Facility in Patna, with the Building Construction Department approving a Rs 28.66 crore project spread over 9.64 acres of land.
The complex will house 10 main pitches along with 5 practice pitches to support player training. A cricket ground measuring 60×70 metres will be developed with adequate seating for spectators. Two indoor cricket practice halls, each 36×18 metres, will also be built.
Beyond cricket, the complex will cater to multiple sports including basketball and volleyball. Plans also include a two-storey, 6,000 sq ft administrative block, a gym, toilets, team rooms, and a restaurant.
Green landscaping of 1,20,900 sq ft will surround the cricket ground, while parking facilities will span 8,388 sq ft for cars and 4,000 sq ft for two-wheelers. A 6-metre-wide driveway is also part of the design for easier access.
Building Department Secretary Kumar Ravi said construction will begin soon, adding that the complex will be equipped with modern technology to help players refine their skills. The department aims to boost sports infrastructure in Bihar through the project.
