Gayaji: A sub-inspector working at the Gayaji SSP office, Anuj Kashyap, died by suicide at his residence on Thursday. He was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his room. The incident has shocked the police department, and an investigation is now underway to find out what led to the tragedy.
Anuj Kashyap, a native of Saharsa, was the media cell in-charge at the SSP office. According to police sources, he returned home from work on Wednesday evening. When his colleagues tried to contact him the next morning and got no response, they went to his residence. They saw his body through the ventilator and informed senior officials.
Anuj got married just two years ago. His wife is preparing for the UPSC exams and lives in Delhi. Family members have been informed about the incident. No suicide note has been found so far, and the reason behind the suicide is still unknown.
The police have launched a full investigation and are talking to people close to Anuj to gather more details. The department is also looking into whether he was under any stress. The case has raised concerns about mental health among police personnel.
