Gayaji: A large biodiversity park is being built on the banks of the Phalgu River in Gayaji, giving the city a new landmark for tourism and leisure. The first phase of the development is underway on the northern side of the Gayaji–Manpur bypass. The project is aimed at offering residents a refreshing space to relax and spend quality time with nature, while also attracting travellers from across the country.
The park is being constructed at a cost of Rs 19.79 crore, and officials say it will be completed in two phases. The first phase will be north of the bypass and the second phase will be built on the southern side of the Manpur bypass. Authorities have set a target of completing the first phase by December 2027. To prevent delays, the Forest Department has begun clearing encroachments from the park area, and all such structures will be removed soon to ensure smooth progress.
Construction of the boundary wall is currently in progress and is described as an important milestone for the project. Once the wall is fully completed, interior work inside the park will begin, including installing facilities and carrying out plantation work. The park is expected to be filled with special species of trees and lush green grass to give visitors a clean, scenic and comforting environment close to nature.
The upcoming biodiversity park will include several modern amenities to provide comfort along with natural beauty. The main entrance gate will be located on the Manpur bypass. Inside the park, there will be an administrative building, a ticket counter, paved pathways, two deluxe toilets, five drinking water points, 36 seating structures, eight shaded resting sheds and colourful lights across the area. All these facilities are designed to make the park attractive in both daytime and evening, offering a pleasant experience for families, travellers and nature lovers.
