Nalanda: Nalanda University is preparing for an important moment as Union Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, will visit the campus on 20 November. The visit is receiving special attention from the university because it is seen as an opportunity to highlight the progress and development happening there. According to the officials, all arrangements have been completed to welcome the minister, and the university is ready to present details of its ongoing academic, research and community programmes.
On reaching the Nalanda University campus in Rajgir, the minister will be formally welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sachin Chaturvedi. After the welcome ceremony, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will address students, faculty members and researchers. The university expects that the interaction will motivate the academic community and give students a chance to share their views, ask questions and learn more about India’s cultural and educational mission.
A unique aspect of the visit will be the involvement of school students and teachers from nearby villages. Under the university’s Sahabhagita initiative, young learners from local communities have been invited to attend the event and meet the Union Minister. Nalanda University believes that such engagement will help strengthen its connection with surrounding villages and encourage school students to take interest in higher education and research. It is also seen as a step towards spreading knowledge beyond the boundaries of the campus.
One of the major highlights of the day will be the minister’s inspection of the newly constructed University Library. The library is equipped with modern design features and advanced learning resources, making it an important part of the university’s academic future. The minister will be shown the facilities, including digital research platforms and reading spaces, to understand how they support students and researchers in their studies.
The university sees this visit as a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate its growth, strengthen academic partnerships and create inspiration for both university students and young learners from nearby areas. Faculty members and students are looking forward to the event, hoping that the minister’s presence will further boost the institution’s vision of excellence in education, research and community participation.
