Patna: The Grand Alliance has stepped up its preparations for the forthcoming Bihar assembly elections, holding a key coordination meeting at the residence of opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav on 1 Polo Road.
The session, convened by the alliance’s election coordination sub-committee, brought together representatives of all constituent parties. Those in attendance included Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Kunal from the Communist Party of India (CPI), Krishna Allavaru of the Congress, Congress Legislative Party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, and Nurul Hoda from the Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP), alongside other members of the panel.
Speaking after the discussions, Shakeel Ahmed Khan said the meeting covered every agenda point. “Such meetings are held regularly. Sometimes the media reports them, sometimes not. But no issue was left undiscussed,” he said, adding that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is expected to visit on September 26.
Bihar Congress president Rajesh Ram, who also attended, confirmed that the alliance had deliberated on concerns relating to Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs). “We will discuss in the coming days what Rahul Gandhi will say on this matter,” he added.
Leaders signalled that a joint agenda would soon be unveiled to the public, stressing the importance of presenting a clear and common vision. The alliance’s top committee is expected to meet next, where final decisions will be made before the formal launch of its election campaign.
