Patna: Elon Musk’s AI company xAI is rolling out a voice feature for Grok Bot, allowing users to interact with the chatbot through spoken prompts instead of typing.
The feature will be available on both mobile and desktop versions of Grok Bot. xAI said the rollout will take place in phases, with the new functionality expected to reach users over the next few days.
Grok Voice Enables Spoken Interaction
The company announced the feature through a post on X. With Grok Voice, users can speak directly to the chatbot and receive responses in audio, reducing the need to use a keyboard.
The technology uses xAI’s real-time voice system, including its latest Grok Voice Think Fast 2.0 model, which was launched in July.
According to xAI, the latest system is 1.4 times faster than its previous version. The company also claims its transcription accuracy is between 1.5 and two times better than Deepgram Nova 3 and ElevenLabs Scribe v2.
Rollout Across Platforms
Grok’s first public beta for desktop and iOS was launched in August, while the Android beta followed in September.
xAI has said it plans to expand the technology across its platforms, although it has not provided a detailed rollout schedule for each platform.
The company also indicated that its voice technology could eventually be integrated into applications beyond Grok Bot.
