Patna: The Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed Harish Dwivedi as its new in-charge for Bihar, with Sangeeta Yadav and Rohan Gupta named as co-in-charges.
The appointments are part of the BJP’s latest organisational reshuffle covering several states and Union Territories. The party’s new list confirms Dwivedi as the main in-charge for Bihar, with Yadav and Gupta supporting him in the state organisation.
Harish Dwivedi Replaces Vinod Tawde
Dwivedi takes over the Bihar assignment from Vinod Tawde, who has been given responsibility for Uttar Pradesh in the new organisational arrangement.
Dwivedi is a BJP national general secretary and has previously served as the party’s in-charge for Assam. He is a former MP from Basti in Uttar Pradesh.
He was among the national general secretaries appointed as part of BJP president Nitin Nabin’s new national team in August 2026.
Who Is Sangeeta Yadav?
Sangeeta Yadav, a BJP national secretary, has been appointed as one of the two co-in-charges for Bihar.
Yadav is from Uttar Pradesh and has previously served as an MLA from Chauri-Chaura. She has also held a national-level organisational position in the BJP Mahila Morcha.
She was appointed as one of the BJP’s national secretaries in the party’s August 2026 organisational reshuffle.
Rohan Gupta Joins Bihar Team
Rohan Gupta, who is from Gujarat, will serve as the second co-in-charge for Bihar.
Gupta was previously associated with the Congress and left the party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He subsequently joined the BJP and was appointed to organisational positions, including national spokesperson and later national secretary.
He was also included in the BJP’s new national team announced in August.
