Patna: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Bihar government has transferred several Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, with some entrusted with additional departmental responsibilities. The move is part of the state’s routine administrative exercise aimed at optimising governance across departments.
Chandrashekhar Singh, a 2010 batch officer and currently the Commissioner of Patna Division, has been assigned additional charge as Secretary of the Disaster Management Department. His dual role is expected to bring synergy between regional administration and disaster preparedness, especially during the monsoon season.
Mihir Kumar Singh, a 1993 batch IAS officer, has been relieved of the Road Construction Department and appointed Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department. He will also hold additional charge as Additional Chief Secretary of the Transport Department. Singh had previously handled the Industries Department in an additional capacity.
In a similar development, Lokesh Kumar Singh, a 2003 batch officer, who currently serves as Secretary of the Rural Development Department, has been given additional responsibility as Secretary of the Health Department. He also continues to hold the post of Investigation Commissioner in the Tourism and General Administration Departments.
Meanwhile, Sandeep Kumar R. Pudkalkatti, a 2006 batch officer, has been appointed Secretary of the Road Construction Department. Until now, he served as Secretary of the Transport Department. He will retain his charge as Investigation Commissioner in the General Administration Department.
B. Karthikeya Dhanji, a 2008 batch officer, has been made Secretary of the Sugarcane Industry Department. He was earlier in charge of the Road Construction Department and will continue as Investigation Commissioner in the General Administration Department.
