Patna: Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) in Patna has started a prepaid cashless card service for patients and their families. With this card, all hospital payments can be made without cash. The service has been launched in partnership with Indian Bank.
The prepaid card will be linked to the patient’s record during registration and can be used in any department of the hospital. Relatives can recharge the card online from anywhere in the country. This will save patients from carrying cash, paying bills in person, or standing in long queues.
The facility was launched after an agreement was signed between IGIMS Director Dr Binde Kumar and Indian Bank’s Executive Director Brajesh Kumar Singh. Senior officials from both the hospital and the bank attended the event.
Hospital authorities say the system will make treatment easier, faster and more convenient for patients, especially those coming from far away. The service is now available for all patients at IGIMS.
