Bodh Gaya: The Indian Institute of Management-Bodh Gaya marked its commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility by conducting a campus-wide cleaning drive under the Ministry of Education’s Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign.
Led by director Dr Vinita Sahay, the initiative engaged around 800 students in a series of activities designed to promote cleanliness and ecological awareness. The event was held between September 17 and October 2, coinciding with the nationwide campaign.
Alongside the cleaning drive, the institute also organised a Safai Mitra Shivir, a special programme aimed at equipping sanitation workers with safety gear. The effort was coordinated by faculty members Dr Vishal Wankhede and Dr Sreelekha Mishra, chairperson of the Student Affairs Committee.

Dr Sahay said the campaign was an opportunity for the IIM Bodh Gaya community to reflect on its shared responsibility for the environment. “Such initiatives demonstrate the collective power of collaboration in building a sustainable and socially responsible society,” she noted.
IIM Bodh Gaya has made sustainability a core value of its institutional mission, embedding environmental responsibility into its teaching and activities. Officials said the institute will continue to promote ecological stewardship and social accountability through student-led initiatives and community partnerships.
