Patna: The Indian Institute of Technology, Patna hosted a specialised financial planning awareness session for its academic and administrative leadership on February 25, 2026. Organised by the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS), the event focused on equipping senior professionals with strategic financial knowledge tailored to their career trajectories and long-term goals.

Titled “Empowering Academic Leaders with Strategic Wealth Intelligence”, the session took place in the Senate Hall and addressed the unique financial realities faced by academicians and institutional administrators. The programme was organised by Dr Richa Chaudhary, associate professor in the HSS department, in collaboration with Ms Rashmi Mishra of Fintech Wealth.
The event was attended by Prof T N Singh, director of IIT Patna, who described financial literacy as an essential component of professional wellbeing. He was joined by Prof A K Thakur, dean (administration), and Dr Sweta Sinha, head of the HSS department, both of whom praised the initiative as timely and relevant for the campus community.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr Dhananjay Banthia, a financial expert who led a masterclass structured around four pillars of modern finance: portfolio management in volatile markets, scientific diversification beyond traditional savings, structured risk assessment, and customised financial planning aligned with academic career paths and retirement objectives.
The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment, where faculty members and administrators sought guidance on tax efficiency, long-term wealth preservation and risk mitigation strategies.

Speaking at the event, he said the initiative aimed to bridge the gap between academic excellence and financial prudence. The programme, organisers said, reflects IIT Patna’s broader commitment to holistic professional development and institutional excellence.
