Patna: Students enrolled in the hybrid Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programmes at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna have recorded strong placement and internship outcomes during the 2026 recruitment season, with the highest annual package reaching Rs 56 lakh.
According to an official statement issued by the institute, the achievement highlights the growing acceptance of hybrid education models introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programmes combine online and offline learning methods and are aimed at expanding access to quality technical education.
The institute said students from these programmes secured employment and internship opportunities with major multinational companies and prominent public institutions in India and abroad.
More Than 200 Internship Offers
IIT Patna reported that more than 200 students have secured internships during the ongoing recruitment cycle. Several students were selected by global technology companies, including Oracle and IBM.
Students also received opportunities with government and public sector organisations such as the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the State Bank of India (SBI), reflecting demand for talent across both private and public sectors.
Recruiters Across Technology and Research Sectors
Companies and organisations participating in the placement and internship drive included Oracle, IBM, Infosys, TCS, GUVI-HCL and Infosera in the technology sector.
Other recruiters included ISRO, SBI, Ambrizon Technologies, Teleperformance, Textron Technologies, Technavig and Alacrity Corporate Solutions.
Diverse Roles Offered to Students
The placement season saw students securing roles across software development, data science, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and management functions.
Among the positions offered were Software Development Engineer (SDE), Full Stack Developer, Frontend Developer, Data Scientist, Data Analyst and AI/ML Engineer.
Students were also selected for roles such as Cybersecurity Specialist, Research Intern, Business Development Associate, Human Resources Professional and Digital Marketing Executive.
Institute Credits Hybrid Learning Model
The institute attributed the results to students’ academic performance, faculty guidance, industry-oriented curriculum and the hybrid teaching framework.
According to the institute, the model has helped extend access to IIT-level technical education to students from remote and rural regions. Officials said the placement outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness of combining digital learning with traditional classroom instruction.
IIT Patna congratulated the selected students and expressed confidence that the programme would continue to create opportunities for learners from diverse backgrounds.
