Patna: Over 600 women from different districts of Bihar gathered in Patna on Sunday to take part in the Gargi Udyami Sakhi Sawan Mahotsav 2025. The event, held at Hotel The Pine near P&M Mall, was organised by the Gargi Chapter under the Let’s Inspire Bihar campaign. It aimed to promote women’s entrepreneurship while celebrating Bihar’s rich culture and traditions.
The event was inaugurated by IPS officer Vikas Vaibhav, founder of Let’s Inspire Bihar. In his speech, he said that women’s leadership is essential for building a developed Bihar by 2047. He shared that more than 2.25 lakh people are part of the campaign, including over 20,000 women. He also mentioned the 27 Gargi Pathshalas running in 14 districts for underprivileged children and other projects that provide skills and jobs to women.
The day included cultural programs showcasing the traditions of Mithila, Magadh, Ang, Bhojpuri and Seemanchal regions. Competitions like Sawan Queen, Sawan Princess, and Nanhi Pari were held to highlight the talents and confidence of girls and women. This year’s Gargi Vachaknavi Prerna Samman was given to popular folk singer Ritika Raj Singh for her contribution to Bihar’s folk music.
Special guests included MLC Anamika Singh Patel, singer Neetu Kumari Nutan, former National Women’s Commission member Sushma Sahu, and Bihar Women’s Commission chairperson Apsara Mishra. Many women entrepreneurs were honoured with the Gargi Udyamita Samman for their outstanding work. The event also featured colourful performances for Hariyali Teej, celebrating nature and traditional beauty.
The programme was coordinated by Dr Preeti Bala and her team, with active support from members like Shairin Iram, Neha Singh, Karishma, and others. Anchoring was done by Dr Shabnam Akhauri, Farah Naz, and Anjali, while Karishma delivered the vote of thanks. The event ended on a high note with participants leaving inspired and motivated to take forward the message of education, equality, and self-reliance.
